Overdosed on poppers: First aid for poppers accidents

4 Min. Lesezeit

We all know that poppers can turn the sex life of horny gays completely upside down. But what about side effects or overdose? Can you snort without limits, or are there limits that you should absolutely keep to? Firstly, there is nothing in life that you can enjoy in unlimited quantities. Even 10 litres of water can be dangerous if you drink it all at once.

Overdoses of poppers are of course possible, but they say nothing about the quality or safety of the product. Of course, you shouldn’t overdose, neither the headache pills after the night in the club nor the poppers. We’ll tell you when you’ve taken too much and what you can do now!

When the effect doesn’t wear off – check the overdose with poppers!

The ecstatic effect of a dose of your favourite poppers lasts from three to ten minutes. You feel euphoric, relaxed, disinhibited and simply even hornier than you already are. A high that has little influence on your life, because it disappears as quickly as it came. It only becomes critical when you’ve clearly snorted too much or even drunk poppers (absolutely not)!

And you’ll be even more horny than before.

  • Drowsiness, you no longer perceive your surroundings properly
  • Due to the drop in blood pressure, your heart races, you feel unwell, your chest hurts
  • Your skin becomes pale and wan, your hands and feet feel cold
  • When you suddenly try to stand up, you fall over and faint
  • You feel sick, you have the urge to throw up

Not everyone has all the same symptoms. Keep an eye on your partner if you think they have inhaled an overdose. He may feel dizzy and not be able to articulate himself properly.

What to do after overdose on popper ? Wait and see or go to the doctor?

Nobody likes to stand in the emergency room and confess to a “sex accident”. With a poppers dose, however, you should not take these sensitivities into account. The risk of permanent oxygen deficiency is high, which can have serious consequences. So, if you experience the symptoms of a drop in blood pressure, call an ambulance and seek medical help.

Please remember that poppers are not for drinking! It can cause a phenomenon called methaemoglobin. This is a lack of oxygen in the blood, which in the worst case leads to irreversible brain damage. If you have drunk poppers by mistake or due to lack of knowledge, contact the poison control centre immediately!

Side effects, interactions, or overdose on poppers ?

You have just discovered the wonderful world of poppers, and suddenly one of you feels bad? It’s not always due to an overdose. Poppers can be used very safely and responsibly, so you need to differentiate.

Side effects are rarely observed with the short-term intoxication of poppers. If you use very strong poppers as a beginner, you may feel light-headed. There are reasons why some poppers are particularly beginner-friendly, while others are more suitable for experienced users. The intoxicated state is not a side effect, it is intentional, that is what makes poppers work. When used safely, the little sex devils make you relax, feel touch much more intensely and really let yourself go in bed.

Another issue is interactions, which can be a problem. You should never use poppers together with Viagra, because the two substances influence each other. Viagra was originally developed as a blood pressure reducer, but was then assigned a different area of use due to its special effect. It lowers blood pressure, and so do poppers. If you take both together, the risk of a dangerous drop in blood pressure with resulting tachycardia is high!

There are a few other substances that you should not use at the same time as poppers. In general, of course, all kinds of drugs, as you can never predict the effect. But so-called phosphodiesterase inhibitors, which are used to treat heart failure, also interact with poppers! In this case, it is not the poppers that are responsible for serious side effects, but the interaction between the two substances.

Safe with poppers – how to avoid overdoses and side effects

It’s a great night at the club, and you want to give yourself a little extra kick? Things aren’t going well in bed because you’re both so tense? These are all situations in which poppers have become popular little helpers in the gay scene. “Sniff and horny”, it can be that simple. In fact, it is, provided you follow a few rules for safe consumption.

  1. Buy your poppers from reputable dealers: No question, you can also get poppers under the table in clubs, but you should do without. It’s better to buy from legal and well-stocked online shops, where you can rely on the quality.
  2. Don’t drink: Please always remember that poppers are not a shot for in-between times, but are used for inhalation. Also watch out for drunken hotties in your neighbourhood who might reach for the wrong bottle.
  3. Use poppers together: Alone at home you should avoid poppers, because in case of emergency nobody can react and help you. It’s much better to enjoy the special feeling together with your lover or your gay buddies.
  4. Don’t take Viagra: A hard cock is the dream of us all, no doubt about it. But when you’re making yourself comfortable with poppers, don’t use Viagra. Instead, use a cock ring to maintain or strengthen the erection.

Conclusion: Poppers overdose is possible, but rare!

Theoretically, you can overdose on anything, so a little responsibility goes a long way. Never use several poppers in a row when you are still intoxicated. If you give your body time to acclimatise, it will be able to handle the next dose better.

At the beginning, also make sure that you don’t snort all the poppers, but first observe how your body reacts! If you are sensible with your little teasers, they can give you a lot of fun in bed. Get the security you need and then let yourself go.
